Because babies are our future.

Because as many as 1 in 16 babies have an inborn condition (birth defect). That could be 124 babies born every day with some kind of inborn condition, in the UK alone.

Because inborn conditions are syndromes, diseases and malformations. Some are minor, others are debilitating and/or life-threatening. They can cause distress and heartache, affecting ability, physical and mental development, senses, organs, limbs and life span. Some are noticed at birth; others will be noticed later.

Because we believe that over the coming decade as many as half a million babies could be affected or born with some kind of inborn condition.

Because we need action – now.

Since 1991 we have been active in helping babies, children and families affected by inborn conditions. Through research, support and action we fight to improve the lives of those affected, and to reduce the chances of our children and our children’s children being affected.

We call it our “Mission of Passion”.
